Chile’s Curicó Valley is an underrated region for Bordeaux-inspired red blends, like this Millaman Estate Reserve 2018. Handpicked and aged in French oak, the nose is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon’s black fruits and Malbec’s fruitcake spice. On the palate, 14% alcohol provides a nice texture, without feeling too heavy. Perfectly fruity, I’d drink this with a light chill alongside cured meats, charred vegetables, or a homemade Bolognese. There's no catch here. It’s just good wine at a good price, down in Curicó Valley. ~AA
