Anjou, Chenin Blanc by Mary Taylor/Pascal Biotteau | 2019

Chenin Blanc is a chameleon grape and wears many hats depending on where it grows, when it's picked, and who makes it. What we love about this Loire Valley style from Anjou is that it's soft and subtle and not overly honeyed or nutty (which can be too much sometimes). Brand new to Florida, we're one of the firsts to jump on this exciting project which is a collaboration between French winemaker Pascal Biotteau and American Mary Taylor. This 2019 has fresh yellow apple, pear, a touch of bit-o-honey, "Mary Janes," and damp straw. Drink with seared scallops and bacony cream, fried calamari, or roasted root vegetables.
