Domaine Ratte of the Jura is making the most magnificent wines east of Burgundy, period. Every year when we receive our tiny allocation, we're like kids on Christmas, overly giddy and wildly impatient to try the new vintage.

Certified Biodynamic by Demeter, Michel-Henri and Francoise Ratte farm the rarely seen, Trousseau à la Dame, a peculiar version of Trousseau with small and loosely knit clusters. You can taste the rarity in this bottle, along with Pinot Noir and the tutti-frutti personality of Poulsard. Sourced from the family’s Clos Maire parcel, the vine age of each grape is more than 80 years. Entirely destemmed, they're harvested together, then ferment slowly without human intervention. Upon your first big smell, Ratte will make you shiver, as all the colors of fuchsia and red shatter the glass. And, with a texture so lustrous and fine, it’s impossible not to want to keep the bottle all to yourself, even when it's Christmas ;)
