Chardonnay, Escolle Vineyard by Caraccioli | 2014
The Caraccioli family has been making a big splash on the west coast for the past few years. Generational California farmers, they expanded their talents into the wine business fifteen years ago, crafting breathtaking sparkling wines and a tiny bit of still Chardonnay (and Pinot Noir). It's hard finding white wines with age and stored well. So, why drink a California Chardonnay from 2018 when you can drink a better version of itself from 2014? Savory walnut and toast deepen the aromatics, and a burst of lemon-cream crunch energizes the palate. We love this wine because it's not trying to be "White Burgundy." It has that glow of sunshine and riper fruits — totally Californian in every delicious way!
