Chenin Blanc, Wickenden Vineyard by Foxen | 2018

Founded by Dick Doré and Bill Wathen in 1985, Foxen is a beloved name within the sommelier community. Their whites favor elegance over power, and this Chenin Blanc is one of the best expressions of the varietal outside of the Loire Valley. Powered by old-vines (planted in the 1960s), the wine ages in an unusual combination of 500 liter French oak and Acacia barrels, which softens the wine's structure and complements Chenin's notes of tea and wild honey. Just under 14%, it's the perfect accompaniment for fish or meat, or just plain day drinking. Serve between 50-54 (F) in an all-purpose glass.
