Liger-Belair Bourgogne Gamay | 2019

What's Gamay doing with Pinot Noir? In 2010 Thibault Liger-Belair was diasppointed with the quality of his traditional Bourgogne Rouge, so he decided to add some Gamay from his, then, newly acquired domaine in Moulin-à-Vent. Pleased with the results, his experiment became a tradition, and a label was born, "Les Deux Terres." The current release (2019) is a blend of mostly Gamay with 15% Pinot Noir, representing the best of Beaujolais and the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. Zingy with red fruits, candied flowers, and crunchy spice, this is exactly the kind-of wine you should be drinking when you want something light, French, and over-the-top delicious. ~Allegra A
