Don't be Afraid of the Big, Dark Rosé!

I find it odd, and at times, comical, when consumers associate the color of a rosé with quality or sweetness. Since when did pale pink equal ultra dry and delicious? Today’s offer intends to expand your rosé palate and disprove the simpleminded theory that dark rosé wines are overly fruity or sweet. Color does not determine sweetness or fruitiness. Let's begin there.

Made from pure Trepat, a dark-skinned grape of Catalonia, this dry Cava bottles-up the quintessential Mediterranean table with luscious berry fruits, plum skin, crushed flowers, and purply herbs. Aged for 12 months on the lees (past the minimum requirement), there's plenty of texture on the palate to pair with robust snacks like: charcuterie, hard aged cheeses, and grilled bacon-dates. It also makes an easy apéritif. Just spike a glass with an ounce of your favorite Spanish vermouth, add a handful of crushed berries, and top with ice.
