Raymond Dupont-Fahn is a fifth generation winemaker whose wines seem to do the possible — taste rich and intense yet super light at the same time. In just a short career, his wines have ended-up in the best restaurants in the country and in the hands of serious Burgundy enthusiasts. He does not use pesticides in the vines, does not chaptalize his wines, and usually chooses to harvest on the early side, in order to zipper-up the acidity in the final wines. Named after the "Tillaux" (or linden trees), "Les Tillets" is not technically a Premier Cru site, but looks, smells, tastes, and acts like one! Bottled by the top players (like Roulot, Jobard, and Boyer-Martenot), it is Meursault's highest elevation vineyard which gives the wines their svelte "Puligny-like" appeal. Dupon-Fahn's version always has a nice pop of oak, but it's far from oaky. 20% new barrel complements the tight rolls of lemon and chalky lime, finishing with a pleasant crunch of salty hazelnut and chestnut.
