Les Petite Sardines is a brand from a uniquely small co-op of growers, Vignerons du Pallet. There are 10 members, all located in the heart of Pallet, one of Muscadet's elite Crus, consisting of light-colored and dark-colored rocks called Roches Blanches and Roches Noires. Vinified at one member's winery, the wine ferments in concrete vats and ages on its lees until the spring.  With a couple years of bottle age, the 2021 is more expansive over the tongue than your typical, youthful and skinny Muscadet. Also, there's a petrol, Riesling-esque aromatic that draws you into the glass. Mid-weight, with moderate alcohol, lemony acidity, and a punchy bowl-of-rocks finish, enjoy this all summer long with grilled parmesan-garlic oysters, fried sardines, or white clam pie.  ~Allegra A
