Founded in 1850 Domaine Laporte is the story of two famous winemaking families. René Laporte was a pioneer in producing low-yield, high-quality Sancerre during a time of overproduction. Then, in 1986 famous winegrower Henri Bourgeois purchased the estate, maintaining its excellent reputation and pushing the winemaking towards more natural methods. One of the first to pick in the appellation, the wines have a shiny core of tasty minerality, thanks to the flinty-sandy soils which dominate their home of "Le Rochoy."
