The Vault is Open! Sonoma Chardonnay by Stillman St. | 2018
Brand new to Florida, Stillman Street is way better than most of the "$20 and under" Chardonnay competition (California, that is). At 13.2% alcohol, it reminds me of a Pouilly-Fuissé from a classic vintage — a healthy dose of pear and yellow apple with just enough cream and hazelnut to tuck-in the finish. With "Sonoma County" on the label, most of the fruit comes from family vineyards in Sonoma's Alexander Valley, rounded-out by a small percentage of Mendocino County fruit, which gives this wine its "cool and breezy" appeal on the palate. So, when looking for your next "go to" house white, just set your destination to "Stillman Street."
