Magnum of Meursault, Clos de la Baronne by Comtes Lafon | 2017
Dominique Lafon is synonymous with Meursault. When Dominique’s father, René, took-over the Domaine in the 1950s, he re-planted the vineyards and made a dramatic step towards estate-bottled wines. At the time, the idea that a family would own and farm their own land... and then make their own wine, was madly ambitious. But without a doubt, Dominque inherited his father's ambition, and took the Domaine to the next level in the 1980s, terminating the family’s long-term leases on vineyards, and becoming increasingly fascinated by organic cultivation. By 1992, the estate was organic, and by 1998, it was biodynamic. We've got very little of this rare magnum, "Clos de la Baronne," a special site owned by American investors and only made by Burgundy's top-shots, Lafon and Roulot.
