Riccitelli and Father is a join venture between Matías and his father Jorge, who were seeking historical old vines of Malbec and Cabernet Franc from the mountainous soils in Mendoza. 80% Malbec planted in 1927 from ungrafted vines in Las Compuertas (Luján de Cuyo) with 20% of Cabernet Franc, coming from a vineyard in Chacayes (Uco Valley), this 2015 pumps-up the volume in the glass with camphor, crushed blackberries, dark cherry pit, and stone. On the palate, the richness of the fruit persists powered by firm, yet velvety tannins and moderate-plus acidity.
