Il Mallo Nocino (750ML)

A tradition of the Emilia-Romagna region and artisanal to-the-bone, Il Mallo Nocino is made by steeping the green husk of fresh walnuts in neutral alcohol for almost a year, which oxidizes into a decadent brown color. The walnuts are then pressed in a wooden basket press and aged in steel for 18 months, then sugar and spices are added before bottling. Fragrantly botanical, earthy, and toasty, this makes a fantastic addition to an old-fashioned, an espresso martini, waffles soaked in maple syrup, or your favorite soft-serve ice cream. ~Allegra A
