The largest owner of biodynamic vineyards in the Champagne region, each new release of Cristal keeps getting better and better, supported by Peter Liem's book, Champagne, when he references that Roederer's biodynamically farmed parcels stood out in blind tastings. The 2015 release is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir with 40% Chardonnay, picked from 45 estate plots. Decadence and freshness are the hallmarks of the Cristal style, and the warmth of the vintage gives the wine a seemingly infinite texture on the palate. So much more than nightclub bling-bling, Cristal is a serious wine and a fine choice for celebrating this year's "Tin" or 10th anniversary. ~Allegra A
