Martin Woods Chardonnay, Koosah Vineyard | 2022

Developed by Kevin and Carla Chambers, longtime Oregon wine pioneers, and later acquired and managed by Résonance (of Maison Louis Jadot), the Koosah vineyard is one of the highest sites and most promising sites in the Willamette Valley. In the northern sector of Eola-Amity Hills, at the footsteps of the Van Duzer Corridor, Koosah is where altitude collides with fierce coastal air. The Chardonnays lean into salinity, icy citrus, and forest greens. Martin Woods ages their wine in an unusual mix of neutral French and Oregon oak, which further pushes the limit of terroir. This is not a wine trying to imitate Burgundy, or anyone else. It is distinctly Koosah, distinctly Martin Woods, and sheerly stunning. ~Allegra Angelo
