Michele Reverdito Langhe Nebbiolo, Simane | 2023

Michele Reverdito is one of Barolo’s most underrated producers (shh!) Based in the La Morra commune of Barolo, he started bottling his own label in 2000. The style leans traditional, but they absolutely nail La Morra’s signature silky ease. The Langhe Nebbiolo “Simane” is pure La Morra fruit, sourced from vines over 20 years old. It’s fully destemmed, fermented in steel with a moderate maceration, then aged in 4,000L barrels. Off-the-chart aromatically, the nose soars with end-of-summer cherries, fleshy plum, cardamom, and strawberry-rose. It's juicy and generous, but then, Nebbiolo's tannin and acidity steal the moisture out of your mouth. Super classic, yet easy to drink by itself, we wouldn't have our house Langhe Nebbiolo any other way. ~Allegra Angelo
