Famille Moussé L'Esquisse Extra Brut | NV

One of our favorite producers in the Vallée de la Marne, Moussé is a Pinot Meunier specialist in the Marne Valley, where Meunier thrives in the family’s unique greenish clay and sandy soils. The Marne is also notoriously frost-prone, and Meunier’s short growing season (buds late, ripens early) helps it dodge brutal late-spring freeze. So, what do Meunier bubbles taste like? Think Pinot Noir with a cold dash of Riesling. There’s this tutti-frutti, sink-your-lips-into-it texture, with an easy breezy lift on the finish. Made in stainless steel, with full malolactic, and a bare-bones dosage, L’Esquisse dazzles with pretty peach, pale florals, and a ballsy acidity. Huge fans. ~Allegra Angelo
