Opus Overture | 2022

First released in 1993 as a multi-vintage blend, Overture has quietly turned into one of Napa’s great value darlings. Twenty years ago, I remember it as “Baby Opus”—easy to snag, and nothing like the allocated stalwart it’s become today. 2022 is the second single-vintage bottling of Overture, and at just 13.5% alcohol, it somehow pulls off that rare Napa trick: grace within power. More than thirty years in, it’s earned every ounce of its prestige—and I’d be grateful to find this one, with a nice red bow, under my tree. ~Allegra A
