Rafael Palacios Godello, Sorte Antiga | 2023

I recently travelled to the Valdeorras region of Galicia, where Rafael Palacios makes the most breathtaking Godello wines. The icing on-the-cake was a taste of this súper limitado bottling from a single parcel, Sorte Antiga. A mere quarter of a football field, planted with Palacios’ oldest bush vines. With a “lite” 14-days of skin contact, Sorte Antiga is Godello supreme with swirls of dewy melon, tangerine oil, lemon cream, and that uncanny high-wire finish. ~Allegra Angelo
