Bruma del Estrecho Paraje Marín Monastrell | 2023

The Paraje Marín is a combination of different plots, all in the Valle Estrecho de Marín, within the southern sub-zone of the Jumilla. In this hot and dry climate, altitude (at 400 meters) is a refuge for these old bush vines which grown on sandy limestone soils. Fermented in steel and aged in concrete, this is the antithesis of big and meaty Monastrell. The fruit profile is dark (think: blackberries and black cherries), but Monastrell's exotic and pretty ego shines with violets, pepper, cocoa, and minty tobacco. With well-manicured tannins and 13% alcohol, Monastrell finds its happy place in Jumilla. ~Allegra A
