Ruinart Blanc des Blancs | NV
Ruinart Blanc des Blancs has traditionally been a wine that captures the art of blending. Most of its Chardonnay grapes come from Premier Cru sites in the Côtes des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, but they also use grapes from the Côte de Sézanne and the unclassified vineyards north of the Vesle River. Today, trends in Champagne focus on dissecting wines into micro-plots, plots, and parcels, but it’s nice to remember that this is a region of blending, blending famous and not-so famous sites, classified and unclassified villages, and excellent to mediocre vintages. As vintages become more erratic and land agreements evolve over time, it’s extraordinary that Ruinart's Blanc des Blancs style remains highly consistent. On the palate it's more luxurious than ever with flavors of freshly baked bread, orange creamsicle, and salted almond. With tiny bubbles that drink like invisible strings of pearls, this is quintessential Ruinart, still a benchmark for Blanc des Blancs greatness. ~Allegra A
