Dominique Mahé, winemaker of Furioso Vineyards is bringing his French flair to Key Biscayne. From Brittany, Dominique stumbled into wine after moving to Australia in the mid-1990s, trading engineering for wine science at Charles Sturt University. A string of harvests eventually brought him to Oregon’s Rex Hill in 2002, where Pinot Noir did its magic tricks—and the Pacific Northwest became his home. Today, at Furioso, he makes wines for those of us who love restraint with an uncanny sense of place. His philosophy? Let the vineyard do the talking. Think: gentle winemaking, energized fruit, and bottles that belong on the dinner table. We’re thrilled to welcome Dominique to Wine Island.
