I appreciate a little Bonarda in my life. Central to Argentina’s vinous identity, it’s the country’s second most planted red variety after Malbec. Its roots are in the French Alps, but in Mendoza, it finds a more voluptuous voice: wild berry pie filling, melty tannins, and a little balsamic-y spice. This one moves at a leisurely pace and makes fast friends with meaty treats like birria tacos, empanadas, or morcilla. So, don’t think too hard on this one.
