Tissier Sancerre | 2024

Our house Sancerre for five years and counting, Roland Tissier represents a third-generation family estate in Sancerre. The Domaine farms about 30 acres of mostly Sauvignon Blanc on a mix of limestone and flint soils which give the wine its layers of non-fruits. Often Sancerre wines are released too early, and they don’t spend enough time on their lees to fill out their bones on the palate. Not the case with Tissier, as the wine has plenty of icy textures, energized by citrus zest, white peach, and tiny specks of flowers. A natural match for white fish, roast chicken, and salads, Tissier is a knock-out choice for the price. ~Allegra Angelo
