Who doesn't love a big bottle of white wine, especially when it's Austrian? When I first tasted this wine, I was instantly impressed by its mouth-filling complexity for an entry level white. I often find entry level Grüners a bit ho-hum and lackluster, but not Erich Berger's. Sourced from the family's younger vines in the gravelly-marl soils of the Kremstal region, this big bottle of Grüner is 33 ounces of pure deliciousness. On the nose, green apples and fresh peaches unfold into the savory corners of sweet fennel, water chestnut, and mushroomy earth. Surprisingly bright, friendly and bold, I wouldn't have Grüner any other way.
