Tuesday Offer: Krasno Rebula | 2016

$18.00

**AVAILABLE ONLINE ONLY, NOT IN-STORE**

The Gorizia Hills are part Italian, part Slovenian. In Italy, the hilly wine region is referred to as the Collio (or Collio Goriziano), while in Slovenia, you would call this region, Goriška Brda. Either side you choose, one thing is certain — you're in one of the world's most thrilling areas for textural, complex whites.

Rebula is Slovenian for Ribolla Gialla, one of Friuli's noble white grapes. Some people think Ribolla Gialla is a skin contact-driven, orange-y wine. While those versions do still exist, the fresher, leaner styles are experiencing a big (and deserved) comeback, like this expression from Krasno. This is a Rebula that doesn’t try too hard. Fermented and aged in 6,000-liter barrels, its hue is pale golden, not orange. It’s floral, but not flowery. It's textural, but not bitter. It’s generous, but not chunky. With sweet aromas of yellow citrus, cold peach skin, honeycomb, and crumbles of wet stone, it looks, smells, and tastes like a true Ribolla Gialla — and that, makes the delicious difference!

Happy Drinking,
Allegra A
