This past weekend, I was heading to a family birthday party and needed to bring some wine. For a thirsty crowd of thirteen adults, along with a feast of Cuban-style pork, rice & beans, and plantains (courtesy of legendary Sazón), I decided to bring a Pinot Noir. On a budget and looking for something fruit forward, but not gooey, I settled on today’s Unearthed Pinot Noir. Sourced predominantly from California’s Central Coast vineyards, the nose has a crowd-pleasing combination of fruit and earth with loads of dark cherry, sassafras, and plum. With 12.9% alcohol, it’s less plump than a Russian River style, but still juicy and ripe, without any of those off-putting green or prickly tones. So, whether it’s a party or a feast, drink lighter with some tasty California Pinot.    Happy Drinking, Allegra A
