The soils of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil are sandier than Cabernet Franc strongholds like Chinon and Saumur-Champigny. So, the wines from Saint-Nicolas tend to exhibit a featheriness on the palate, an irresistible lift and glide. Vinified and aged in tank, Les Quarterons is a light-hearted expression of Cabernet Franc with lots of raspberry, violet, red plum, and purple spice.
