Picpoul is a great option when you're looking for something dry and light with patio crusher vibes. Just inland from the Mediterranean coast, about halfway between Marseille and Spain, is the Pinet appellation. Here, limestone-clay soils along with a cooling influence from the sea give Picpoul its sour lime, salt crunch appeal. Raised in steel, my tasting journal states, "Crispy peach skin, Riesling-eqsue, lingering acidity, mineral forward, good value." A solid refreshing white, rain or shine. ~Allegra A
