Château la Coste Grand Vin Rosé | 2022

From the estate's oldest vines, at the estate's highest altitude, this is an uncanny rosé blend of mostly White Grenache and Syrah. It's a more powerful expression than your typical pale skinned quaff, showing off extra layers of texture within a silky, streamlined framework. Blood orange, white flowers, and raspberry parfait are just a few of the high notes, but my favorite part is the winery's suggested food pairings which include, "Monkfish skewers with pine nut sauce, filet mignon with apricots, and grilled red mullet with candied eggplant." How grand! Yet, compared to other "Grand Vin" bottlings from Provence, La Coste is not grand in price, delivering plenty of dreamy South of France pleasure in one simple glass. ~Allegra A
