Located in the hills of Cogolin, hugging the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the Saint-Maur estate was built at the end of the 19th century. This is a stunning 100-hectare Cru Classé vineyard, divided into three parcels: Clos Saint-Vincent, Clos de Capeline, and Saint-Maur. Made in all three colors, L'Excellence represents the top wine of the estate, an expression of the oldest vines with a terroir of clay, limestone, schist, and quartz. The rosé, a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault (with 10% combined Rolle, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, and Tibouren), ferments gently at a low temperature, extracting those pristine punch berry-melon flavors from the South of France. If you're a fan of Ott's Clos Mireille or Minuty's 281, you'll appreciate how Saint-Maur's richness and delicacy seamlessly roll into one. ~Allegra A
