Daniel Bouland Chiroubles, Chatenay | 2022

If you've never tried the wines of Daniel Bouland, then you're in for a spectacular ride. Sourced from a steep hillside site, just north of the famous Corcelette vineyard, this is pitch-perfect Gamay. Made in a more natural fashion (with whole cluster fermentation, no racking, low sulfur, no fining, nor filtration), the nose is a spiral of crushed berries, Concord grapes, pink peppercorn and damp rose. On the palate it feels cool and creamy like soft serve ice cream, and the finish lingers with superfine tannins and a juice box of acidity. ~Allegra A
