Hard-to-Find Domaine Ratte Trousseau, Les Corvées | 2022

Certified Biodynamic, Michel-Henri and Francoise Ratte grow the rarely seen Trousseau à la Dame, a superior clone of Trousseau with tiny berries and loosely knit clusters which breed wines sustainable for long term aging. Corvées refers to "Côteaux des Corvées," the best hillside in Arbois, with its rich red marl soils, for growing Trousseau. The Ratte winemaking style favors minimal intervention, with very little movement and agitation of wine in the cellar and aging in older Burgundy barrels. Bottled un-fined and unfiltered with a low dose of sulfur, a kaleidoscope of intense reds and pinks appears in the glass. Sublimely silky and like a feather on the palate, you'll share a glass, then secretly want the whole bottle to yourself.
