Flor de Pingus | 2021

A co-fermentation of 3% Grenache with 97% Tempranillo, Flor de Pingus (by Peter Sisseck) comes from several different plots in the sub-region of La Horra. Here, rocky soils with limestone substrate breed deeply rich wines with full brow minerality. Aged for 18 months in French oak, the nose is a fruit basket of reds, blacks, and blues, but the palate proves that it's as much about the earth as it is the fruit, exposing violets, melted licorice, smoky garrigue, and white chocolate spice. Energetic and deliciously contagious, Flor de Pingus remains in a class of its own. ~Allegra A
