Magnum of Fortemasso Langhe Nebbiolo | 2022

A rather new venture in Barolo, the Gussalli Beretta family purchased the Fortemasso estate in 2013, in the commune of Monforte d’Alba, known for its robust styles of Barolo. This Langhe Nebbiolo, sourced from the family's youngest vines, is made with a less serious hand. Fermentation and aging in steel follows a brief 5-day maceration with the skins. Ruby red in the glass, the wine opens-up with floral cherry, raspberry, and cigarette plum. A pretty medium body, fit tannins stretch out the finish with all the goodness of tart and tang. Who thought Nebbiolo was this crushable? ~Allegra
