The striking labels of Laurent Tribut resemble the legendary wines of René & Vincent Dauvissat. Coincidence? No. Laurent married Marie-Clotilde Dauvissat and became the son-in-law of René Dauvissat. When Laurent and Marie began their winery, they farmed hush-hush parcels that belonged to her family. For years, their wines were a well-kept secret in France, but like all delicious things, word travels quickly. Both estates shared everything, from shears to farmers to cellar, until Laurent and Marie built their own cellar. Like the wines of Dauvissat, the Tribut wines are Chablis elite — with their deceptive sway, sourdough and cream, and TKO minerality. The only problem is that there’s hardly any.
