Les Forts de Latour Pauillac | 2015

Made from Latour's younger vines with a less aggressive oak-aging regiment than the Grand Vin, Les Forts de Latour is a true second wine. A plump vintage, the 2015 is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35.6% Merlot with an exacting 0.5% Cabernet Franc and 0.9% Petit Verdot. Sleek and expansive, it's in a wonderful drinking phase, showing spirals of blackcurrant, Asian spice, and violet dust, with a long-legged, stony minerality.
