Magnum of Tempo d'Angélus Bordeaux | 2023 (1500ML)

First made in the 2019 vintage, the goal of Tempo d'Angélus, is to offer a top-quality wine at an affordable price, made in the same cellar, by the same expert hands of the Grand Vin. The backbone is Merlot from the villages of Côtes de Castillon (Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe) on clay-limestone hillsides. According to the estate, “These cold and deep soils associated with the steep slopes of the hillsides and the southern exposure have a direct influence on the development of the maturity of the grapes which is distinguished by low pH and significant polyphenolic masses.” Aged in 40% new oak, the palate is more medium-bodied than full, rolling with tart cherries and strawberries, pine, tobacco, and damp spring flowers. A streamlined, tucked-in, and dainty version of its elders, Tempo offers plenty of pleasure for its price. ~Allegra A
