What's Gamay doing with Pinot Noir? In 2010 rising star winemaker, Thibault Liger-Belair was disappointed with the quality of his traditional Bourgogne Rouge, so he decided to add some Gamay from his newly acquired property in Moulin-à-Vent of Beaujolais. Pleased with the results, his experiment evolved into a tradition, called Les Deux Terres (The Two Earths). The current release is a total stunner, from a fruit-friendly vintage. A blend of 85% Gamay with 15% Pinot Noir, it zings the palate with bright red fruits, candied flowers, and dark crunchy spice.
