Packaged in a duly plump bottle, this is full-throttle Grenache from the Usseglio family's oldest vines in the Châteauneuf sites of La Crau, Serres, and Le Bedine. When Pierre's sons, Jean-Pierre and Thierry, took over the Domaine in 1999, one of their signature decisions was to destem all the fruit. Slightly flashier on the palate, than their collectible "Mon Aieul" bottling, 2 Frères is aged in a combination of larger and smaller barrels, using about 20% new oak.  Unapologetically warm weather Grenache, the aromas fly off-the-charts with pink flowers, dark cherries, raspberry liqueur, soy, and crispy burnt ends. Made in only prime vintages, production hovers around 500 6-pack cases. Supercharged Grenache, 100%. ~Allegra A
